Combining a drug therapy and oncolytic virotherapy to treat cancer: an optimal control approach
Optimal control theory is applied to a controlled tumor model. Seeking to minimize the infected cells and to maximize uninfected cells, we use two controls representing drug therapy and oncolytic virotherapy. The Pontryagins maximum principle is used to characterize the optimal controls. The optimal controls are obtained by solving the optimality system. The results are analyzed and interpreted numerically using MATLAB.
