Adapting IS Strategic Planning methodology to define Mobile Strategy

The nature of mobile initiative in a company make them usually opportunistic and pragmatic. This leads inevitably to some incoherence and inconsistence in companies passage to digital and mobile world. Mobile strategic planning is one solution to make mobile initiatives adhere to the global strategy and respect a more rigorous plan. We introduce in this paper a methodology for mobile strategic planning is based on Enterprise Architecture frameworks and our work on strategic planning SI. This methodology is intended to be light, pragmatic, iterative and incremental, so to be tailored to mobile applications and projects. We furthermore defined several methodological tools and techniques to better support the methodology.

Mouhsine LAKHDISSI is a Partner in a consulting firm specialized in IT Architecture. He received a Master degree in Software Engineering in a leading engineering school in Morocco. He also served as Chief IT Architecture in many companies with international exposure. His research interests include Enterprise Architecture, IT Governance and processes and Software industrialization.

Rachid El Habi
Rachid EL HABI is a managing partner in a leading consulting firm in Morocco. He has a strong background in Project Management and IT Processes. He is also specialized in Telecommunication and mobile technologies.

Alami Semma
M. Semma is a professor and department chief in the Science and Technology Faculty in Settat specialized in Industrial and IT engineering

Bouchaib Bounabat
PhD in Computer Sciences Professor in ENSIAS, (National Higher School for Computer Science and System analysis), Rabat, Morocco Expert in National ICT Strategies and E-Government to the World Bank, IDB (Islamic Development Bank), ECA (Economic Commission for Africa), UNESCO, ISESCO, UNIDO (United Nations Industrial Development Organization) Candidate of the Kingdom of Morocco for the Secretariat-General of the Arab Information and Communication Technologies Organization Member of the editorial board of “the journal of Information and Communication Technologies and Human Development” Member of the board of Internet Society - Moroccan Chapter
